The four of them sat around the table in the town square.  Two teenagers and their pokemon.  There was an air of friendship between them, but they sat warily, watchful.  Not of each other, but of those around them.  Ice cream floats and bowls of pokemon food sat on the table, mostly untouched.

The boy, Ulti was tall, his brown hair was long and unkempt under his red hat.  In the heat of the Sinnoh day his pale blue jacket hung on the back of his chair along with his sling bag.  He had a bit of a self-satisfied look on his face.  A clefairy sat on the table in front of him.  It looked like a chubby pink star with a big candy floss curl of hair.  But in place of the normal, inane smile of a Clefairy, this one wore a sardonic expression and gripped the table with large, curved talons.

The girl, Dana, sat opposite him.  She was small and delicate looking, until you saw the determination in her eyes.  She wore a long T-shirt and cut-off denim shorts and her knees were skinned. Her doll-like face was almost lost beneath her white cap and masses of long wavy dark hair that a pony tail utterly failed to control.  An Eevee sat in her lap; like a small puppy.  It's scarf-like mane was soft and fluffy and her long rabbit ears had a pretty curl to them.  As she blinked a small charge of blue energy passed through her eyes.

“It's your story, FabledLord.  Why don't you tell it”, Util said to his pokemon.
The Clefairy suddenly shimmered and blinked out, leaving me standing in it's place.
“Outta my way, 'fairy”, I told it.  “Youze only knows half the story.  Me.  I was there from the beginning”.

I was pretty much the same shape as that stupid 'fairy whose body I share, but a dark purple in colour with startling spikes of black hair, evil red eyes and a huge, dark, toothy grin.

“A Gengar!”, Dana exclaimed, shocked.  “And it talks!”
“Oh yeah, he talks”, Ulti replied ruefully, “It's getting him to shut up that's the problem!”.
“Plagiarist”, I muttered.  He was gonna pay for that line.

“Yeah doll, I talk.  For real.  This ain't one of your night-night sweet dreams.  Note the lack of pretty pink Beautiflies”.
“FabledLord...”, Util growled warningly, “Play nice”.
“Hey.  I always play nice... sorta.  Ulti, tell your girlfriend to pick her jaw up off the ground before someone trips over it”.
“She's not my...”, he started excitedly before he realised I was ribbing him.  He settled for another glare.  “Just tell the darn story, will you”.  I sniggered evilly.  I do a real good evil snigger.  I had plenty of time to practice in the cells.  But I'm getting ahead of myself here.

“Okay, okay”, I made it sound begrudging.  But to be honest I wanted to tell my story.

“It started a long time ago, back in Nuvema Town.  I was just a normal Gengar back then.  No talking.  No stupid Clefairy.  I had a trainer though.  Just a kid”, I needled Ulti, “Green as they come”.
“Hey!”, Ulti protested.
“Just tellin' it as it is, kid”, I replied.  It must have been the girl's presence, needling him was just waaaay too easy today.

“Like I said, I was your normal Pokemon back then.  Loyal.  Steadfast.  And about as smart as your average rock.  We was training outdoors that day.  Practising Sucker Punch.  It was a beautiful, sunny day.  I hate those.

The ship descended outta the sky with barely more than a whisper.  I remember it was all clean lines and chrome finish, held aloft by four huge turbine fans.  As I stood there staring, a large, glowing net shot out with a pfft sound.  I was caught fast.  I tried to ghost through it but got nothin' but a shock for ma troubles.  I struggled.  I fought, but it was no use.  The ground shot out from under me as they netted me as clean as any fisherman.

“Hey!”, Ulti shouted.  “Stop.  Give me back my Gengar or you'll pay!”  Kid had guts.  Not much smarts”, I took a cheap shot at Ulti as he sat there engrossed, “but plenty guts.

“Be silent, twerp!”  The voice was cultured and very English.  It came from a tall man dressed in, of all things, a knight's plate-mail armour.  Complete with white surcoat.  It had a symbol on it, an R or a P or somethin'.  Of course, back then, I couldn't read so I had no idea what it meant.  A woman stood next to him on the open cargo ramp.  I could tell it was a woman, even under all that stupid get-up.  She had curves even a Pokemon could appreciate.”  I leered across the table at Dana, who had pretty much no curves to speak of.

“You should be grateful”, the woman called.  She had a real sexy voice to match the curves.  One of them English lady type voices.  “Your Gengar is about to help us make scientific history!”
“That's MY Gengar!”, Ulti shouted back at her, “And you're not having him for any reason.  Hydreigon, I choose you!”  And he launched his pokeball.

A large, three headed, six winged dragon shimmered into life with a roar.  It's attention centred on the ship.  Flapping it's leathery wings, it gave a violent roar and set off after the vessel.

The woman just laughed at him.  “Pitiful”  She raised her own Pokeball, which gave off a slightly sickly green glow.  “Atomic Beautifly”.  She said it dismissively.  This was like no Beautifly I ever saw.  I mean it was humongous.  Twice the size of a normal Beautifly, easy.  But that weren't the worst of it.  It was hooked up to all these gizmo’s, built right into it's skin.  And that red, glowing mechanical eye and half metal plated head were just downright creepy.  Like a cyborg Beautifly, 'cept it weren't all that beautiful any more.  In fact it looked downright sickly... even toxic.  I mean the damn thing creeped me out, and I'm a Ghost/Poison type for god's sake.

“I know you!”, Ulti yelled.  “You're Team Rocket aren't you.  I heard about you guy always trying to steal Pokemon!”
“Team Rocket!”, the man laughed snidely.  “Don't make me laugh, boy.  Those losers couldn't steal a Pokemon they already owned.  We.  We are team Plasma.  Remember that.  When we rule all of the Sinnoh Region, you can boast that you were one of our first victims”.

“Where the heck is Sinnoh?  This is Unova.  Wierdos.”  I heard Ulti mutter.  It would be the last thing I heard from him in a long time.

“Hydreigon... Hypervoice”, Ulti shouted.  The mystic bond between a trainer and his pokemon carried the command clearly to the dragon, even across the great distance and the whir of the engines.  The dragon drew back all of it's three heads and let forth a scream that made me cover my ears.  The impact ripped into the beautifly's body, but it never show nothin' on it's face.  The wound dripped sickly yellow mucus where there should have been blood.

It extended it's wings which began to fluoresce with colours.  It was so beautiful I just wanted to watch and watch.  I woulda done anything t' see more.  Damn that bloody dragon for attacking something sooo beautiful.  I wanted t' tear it a new navel.
Hydreigon was effected with the same infatuation as I was.  It's heads began to weave about in tandem with the patterns, stretching forward to see more.  It's raging attack forgotten.
“Hydreigon!  Hydreigon!”, Ulti yelled.  But it didn't react.

“Atomic Beautifly.  Use Gust!”, the woman commanded.  The pattern on it's wings faded but it didn't matter, it was still the most beautiful creature I'd ever seen.  The way the sun glinted off it's half metal head, and the ichor that dripped slowly and gracefully from it's wound.  It stretched and beat those wings, creating a huge gust of wind that smashed into the love-struck Hydreigon.
“Again!”, the woman commanded.  “Again!”.  Twice more the wind smashed into the dragon, driving it to the ground with a terrible crash that knocked Ulti from his feet.  Hydreigon shuddered weakly and tried to rise.

“Now, finish it off.  Hyperbeam!”.  I gasped as the infatuation shattered and fell away and reality came floodin' back.  She wasn't just gonna beat Hydreigon, she wanted t' kill it! Dead!.  Dis wasn't the way a pokebattle was supposed to go.
“NO!”, Ulti yelled helplessly.  “You can't!”

Atomic Beautifly opened it's wings and with a series of metallic chink's solar panels slid smoothly over them.  The glow as it charged it's hyperbeam was blinding.  That terrible red mechanical eye began to glow brighter and brighter.

Just as the eye widened and fired, things went crazy.  Atomic Beautifly was hit by a crackling ball of electric energy that smashed into it's wing and span it around.  Later I coulda sworn I heard a girl's voice shout.  But right then it was just chaos.  The blow span the Beautifly just as Hyperbeam triggered.  It missed Hydreigon, cut a ten foot deep trench in the ground and arced up just right to take a chunk outta the ship's wing.  The impact nearly knocked tall, gorgeous an' homicidal right outta the ship”.

“That's where we came in”, Dana interrupted excitedly.  “Emolga and me”.
I drew in an angry breath between my teeth.
“Hey.  Doll-face.  This is My story.  I'm tellin' it my way.  You wanna tell your side... well y' can wait your bloody turn!”
“FabledLord!”, Ulti was on his feet, angry and embarrassed.  Dana looked shocked and hurt, like she was ready to cry.  Boo-hoo.  Like I cared.  The Eevee had jumped out of her lap onto the table facing me, it's cute ears perked angrily and the fur on it's back bristling.  “Levy!”, it demanded, “Levy!”
I turned away, making a gesture as if to brush it away.
“Aww whadda you know, ya dumb broad!”.
“Leh vvveeeeeee!”, she replied threateningly.

“I turned to face them all.
“Okay.  Okay,  Look d' ye want me t' tell this story or not!”.
They did.  I could tell.  I had 'em hooked.  Apart from Levy of course.  But then she already knew the story.  But unlike me, she couldn't tell it.  Truth be told, I wasn't sure I wanted to mix it up with Levy.  I'd seen some of what she could do.  I wasn't really sure which one of would walk away.
“Le-vee!”, she warned me.  Of course, I understood exactly what she was saying.  All pokemon can understand each other, but you're not paying me t' be a translator, are you.  You want to hear my story.

“So”, I resumed my tale.  The Atomic Beautifly was hit by this mysterious Electroball that came from who knows where...”.

A choked snigger from Ulti made me look up.  Dana was sticking her tongue out at me.  Vigorously.  I tried to ignore it, but the embarrassed look on Levy's face made it worthwhile.

“... and it's Hyperbeam went wild, hitting the ship.  One of the turbines was smoking badly and the ship was bucking like an angry Zebstrika.  With a curse the woman recalled her Pokemon and the ship turned to leave with me still held prisoner.

The Emolga that had launched the timely electroball fired another at the ship, but it went wide.  It's trainer, a young girl with a big pony-tail came rushing into the clearing.  Ulti gave a quick nod of thanks, and recalled the still groggy Hydreigon to it's pokeball, on the run.  He grabbed his push-bike from the yard and set off after us as fast as he could pedal, with the girl running far behind.  Kid really didn't know when to give up.

I went mad and tried to rip, blast and whatever else I could manage, my way outta the net.  All I got for my troubles was another dose o' shock until I slipped into unconsciousness.

When I came round I was in a cage.  A square steel box maybe big enough for me to turn around twice in.  There were bars on all sides.  I could see other pokemon in cages too.  We was lined up like lockers.  The Bank of Pokemon.  Come and make a withdrawal now.  To one side there was an Eevee, to the other a Charizard that barely fit in it's cage.  Further down, a Clefairy, and many others too.

Team Plasma didn't believe in playing nice, or playing by the rules.  They'd already shown this.  But now I saw how unfeeling they truly were.  We were caged up, kept for whatever experiments they felt like using us for.  Worse though.  They kept us caged in the same laboratories  where the experiments took place.  We got to watch what they put our brother an sister pokemon through, all the time knowing we were next.”
My voice dropped to a growl.  “I lost a lot of companions in that place. We learned to go along with whatever they wanted.  I learned it the hard way.  Well... No actually.  That's a lie.  I never really learned it at all.  Shock treatments and withheld food were common punishments for resistance or trouble.  Some of the pokemon that had been there the longest... you looked into their eyes and there was nothing looking back at you.  No hope.  No anger.  No soul.

Me.  I got mad.  Hate made me resist.  Anger made me strong.  Over the month or more I was there.  The month it took for my trainer to come looking for me.  I got so mad that I don't think there will ever be a way for me to find my way back”.

I stopped talking and stared at the table I was standing on.  I felt a powerful need to smash something.  To hit out and keep hitting until the world went away.  I glanced at Levy.  Caught up in the memory she was hunched up as small as she could get, shivering violently.

My voice dropped to a whisper.  “One day they took Levy away.  We didn't see what happened.  It was in a different part of the lab.  They talked a lot about evolutions, Eevelutions, genetic and environmental triggers, instabilities and other scientific gibberish.  They talked about an Evolution Ray.  What I do know is when they brought her back she was... different”.

Dana grabbed the Eevee in a hug.  “Oh Levy”, she howled, hugging the pokemon close, tears running down her face.  Ulti met my eyes.  He saw my fists clenching involuntarily.  We had a moment of understanding.  It doesn't happen very often.  He nodded sadly, letting me find my own path through the memories.

“When they pushed her back in the cage, she touched the wing of the Charizard in the next cage.  Just brushed it.  And she evolved.  Into Flareon.  The Evee fire evolution.  But that wasn't the worst of it.  The Charizard... the Charizard actually devolved.  Devolutioned.  Whatever you want to call it.  Back into Charmeleon.  It didn't last long.  Only a few minutes.  And they both changed back... but it scared the living hell outta her.  For a long time afterward she huddled in the back of her cage.  Refused to come near, talk or even look at any other pokemon”.  My voice was getting angry again.

“What about you”, Ulti asked quietly.  “What did they do to you”.
I turned on him, ready to snap answer, or even an attack but caught myself in time.  I looked at him. Really looked.  And I understood.  He'd changed the path of my story-telling.  He'd purposefully set himself up as a target for my anger.  A foil to take it out on.  For a minute there I almost felt some respect for the kid.

I forced myself back to the story.  “Me.  With me they wanted to test the old legend about the Clefairy/Clefable/Gengar link.  The fable that the Gengar was a Clefairy's shadow got loose.  They did a lot of stuff I don't want to talk about to that Clefairy and me.  Stupid 'fairy just stood there and took it.  But even I gotta give him points for sheer 'ornary toughness.  Me I got real mad.  So angry I thought I might burst outta my skin.  So filled up with hatefull anger that eventually everything went dark.

When they finished, they brought the Clefairy back to his cage.  Only the Clefairy.  But it only took minutes to see what had been done.  Team Plasma had succeeded in their experiments.  They had fused a Clefairy and a Gengar into the same body.  Only I wasn't his shadow as they had expected.  I was a shadow in his mind... or he in mine.  We fought for control for the longest time, flickering back and forth between 'Fairy and Gengar.  Until finally I grew tired of it.  Not tired, but just sick.  I let him take the body and I sat back in a corner of his mind to brood and think hateful thoughts.

It was then I discovered he actually had a mind.  It was slow and plodding, but it was brain.  The considered, overly thought-out nature of his mind drove me nuts, I could see the ideas forming but I had to wait for them to come to fruition in his head.  I actually saw the daring escape plan form in his thoughts.  Here and there I might have even pushed a thought in a new direction.

He turned to the Eevee in his ponderous way.  “Levy, I have a plan to get us out here.  A plan to escape.  But I need your help.  I can't do it without you”.  Of course it didn't come out like that, it was more like “Clefairy.  Cle- Cle-fairy.  CleFairy!”.  But Levy, understood.  And so did I.

Clefairy had all of the pokemon reach through their cages to join hands, paws, wings or whatever could reach.  All the way to Charizard.  On his word, Charizard would reach through the bars of it's cage and take Levy's hand.
Just then, there was a series of explosions from the other side of the complex.  The lights turned red and flashed and a klaxon started wailing.  Voices started shouting contradictory orders.  “It's those bloody kids”, I heard someone shout.

“Now”, I heard him say.  And Charizard reached out a paw and took Levy's hand.  The tiny Eevee stared flickering through her possible evolutions in the blink of an eye.  Levy reached out for Clefairy, to channel all those evolutions into him.

I don't think so.  I thought.  That power.  That glory, will all be mine.  With a sudden psychic lunge I pushed him into the back of the brain of our shared body and took control.  And the hand that Levy took was mine!

Power.  Evolutions.  Energy.  Poured into me.  I felt the heady mix of types and evolutions flow into my very being.  And I changed.  I expanded in power and girth and size.  Suddenly the cage was too small and shattered as I outgrew it.

My arms grew longer and my fists turned to a fiery red.  My ears and the spikes along my back grew longer and more vicious.  And I felt myself sink partially into the ground.  Finally, a third eye opened and suddenly I could see... everything, not just here but in other dimensions too.

I held out my hands and called forth the power.  A beam of dark pulsing, spiralling purple energy shot forth, ripping the cages to shreds and freeing the suddenly terrified pokemon.  I laughed the evil laugh of the powerful and it came out as a booming, echoing sound.

The door crashed open and several Team Plasma guards rushed in.  But they were no match for me.  I swept them aside like they were Petilil; weak useless things.  I was intent on my real target.  The two humans who had dared kidnap me.  Who had tortured me.
They had their hoods down now, and long waves of crimson red hair; the colour of blood hung to almost to the woman's waist.  The man hair was short, blonde and cut in a sharp manner he thought debonair.  “Mega Gengar!” the man hissed in shock, “How?...”

Both produced pokeballs.  The woman summoned her Atomic Beautifly once more.  Still as sick and tortured looking under all the technological implants it bore.  “Risen-lia”, the man cried out.  His pokemon was equally distressed and creepy looking.  It might have been a Roselia once.  Now it was a parody.  It was tall, stretched and stooped, and it's flowers were withered and blackened at the edges.  It wasn't the healthy green of a Roselia, rather the same toxic looking yellow green as the Atomic Beautifly.  It's head hung listlessly to one side and it dragged itself more than walked.  It looked like it had been dead and buried and someone had gone and dug it up.

Atomic Beautifly moved.  It's wings opened.  I knew what was coming next.  Attract.  In desperation I shut my eyes.  But my third eye stayed stubbornly open.  The colours began swirling and playing across the wings.  I began to sway in time with the colurs, fascinated.

Atomic Beautifly moved in to strike.  Straight into my waiting fist.  Sucker!  I thought.  My third eye viewed theswirling, hypnotic colours through the filter of multiple dimensions, and saw them for what they were.  A bright, sickly, toxic shadowplay.  It screeched as the impact took it by surprise and threw it back across the room.  But I couldn't press my advantage.

Risen-lia was already lurching across the room toward Levy and the other, devolved pokemon.  They didn't stand a chance.  And I couldn't fight on two fronts at once.  “Levy!”,  I demanded as helpless anger flooded me.  “I can't do this on my own!”.  Of course to the Humans present, it merely came out as “Gengar!”.  Levy gritted her teeth and sparks of power began to dance over her fur.  Around her, every pokemon in the room, every pokemon she had touched, fainted.  The surge of power that flooded into me on that wave of helpless anger was like nothing I've ever felt since.  It was power on another magnitude altogether.

It was like awakening from a half-dream.  Everything was bright and crisp.  My mind was working in a way it never had before.  Complex concepts suddenly seemed like child's play.  As if the world had suddenly come into focus through a looking glass.
I could see all dimensions where they overlapped this one.  Like stepping stones and wells of power.  I could see flickering after-images of events that hadn't happened yet, echoed through multiple dimensions.  Things that language doesn't have words for.

I saw the wall blown apart by Excadrill, and Ulti and the girl tumble into room, but it hadn't happened yet.  My body was as changed as my mind; I saw it in their eyes.  My red fiery markings changed to the sharp crystal white of ice, my body swelled to twice that of a human, and my eyes changed to pools of endless shadow.  But for my third eye which glowed with a coruscant of scintillating colours.

I stepped into the shadows, through a dimension that no-one else could see.  And stepped out between Risen-lia.  My fist shot forward but didn't touch the corrupt thing in front of me, that dripped poisonous ichor. Blazing cold surround that fist and encased the dread thing in a sheath of ice.

The wall across from me blew apart under the blows of Excadrill.  Ulti, and the girl tumbled into the room.  Followed seconds later by an Emolga; it's tail singed and slightly blackened but it's eyes bright and full of fight.
“Gengar...”, Ulti stammered in shock.  “Wha...”
The girl was so shocked the colour drained from her face.  “Is...is that a... a Legendary Gengar?!”, she exclaimed.

I found my voice.  A human voice.  It seemed so simple I couldn't understand why I hadn't done it before.
“No.  I am Gengar no longer”, I pointed at the fallen members of Team Plasma.  Knocked down by the exploding rubble from Excadrill's explosive enterance.  “Baron Suffolk and Lady Nightingale.  Your titles are as nothing.  I am the true power, the true lord here.  I am the fabled bringer of destruction you sought to create.  But I am not yours to command.  I am FabledLord!”.

Lady Nightingale screamed in terror.  “Atomic Beautifly”, she shrieked desperately.  Half-dead appearing,  it rose obediently.  Some mockery of life pumped through it's veins my the machinery that suffused it.  It's wildly flapping wings threw Gust after Gust of wind at me, but it was almost as nothing.  This sickly promethian creature that had once been so deadly a threat might as well has been a fly buzzing around me.  I lashed out with a pulse of dark energy that lanced into the creature and pinned it to the machinery behind it.  Held it until it stopped struggling and dead eyes glazed, slumped unconscious.

The members of Team Plasma took one look at their destroyed laboratory and fallen pokemon and ran.  I turned to them... but out of the corner of my eye, I saw levy suddenly sway and collapse.  I blinked.  And everything changed.  I felt the world return, heavy and cumbersome, my body seemed small and weak.  I looked down at myself and I was...

Gengar.

Sparks suddenly started shooting from one of the panels and flames erupted from the bank of equipment.  Within seconds black, choking smoke was filling the room.  “We've got to get out of here!”, Ulti yelled.  He returned Excadrill to his pokeball and grabbed me, picking me up and carrying me free.  The girl, Dana grabbed the fallen Levy, her long lost Eevee and with Emolga leading the way through the thick black smoke, we ran for our lives.

The castle.  It had to be a castle didn't it.  The castle exploded minutes after we got clear.  We barely dodged the falling rubble as we ran for the cover of the forest.  I say we.  Ulti never let go of me until we were clear and the worst of the explosions were finished.

We stood facing each other in the forest clearing.
“Are you really still my Gengar?!”, Ulti demanded increduously.  “After all that?”.
I looked at him.
“I don't know”.  It came out human!
Ulti did a double-take.
“You.  You can still talk”.
He pulled out an empty pokeball, hefting it thoughtfully.  I didn't argue.  I didn't know where I was supposed to go from here.  But one thing I did know was that no-one was ever gonna make me do anything.  Ever again.

He threw the pokeball, and in a flash of light, it swallowed me...
Well sort of.

It rocked back and forth switching between red and white, before settling on white.  A catch.  It spat the pokemon it had just caught back out.  Ulti cheered.
“I just caught a...”, he did another double-take.  “A Clefairy?????”.
“Yeah.  You did”, replied the Clefairy, resignedly.  Stupid thing to say.  Stupid 'Fairy

I might be Ulti's Gengar, but I AM Fabledlord.  I won't be captured, held or made to do anything I don't want.  You might have the 'fairy but you have no hold over me.  So get used to it, kid”.

We stared at each other across the table, the four of us.  “Is that really the way it happened?”, Dana asked finally.  “Of course it is, Doll.  Or my name ain't FabledLord”.
“FabledLord my foot!”, Ulti broke in.  “More like the Lord of Fables.  And that sounds like a huge one!”.  I just smirked at him.

An explosion across the square broke the moment.  Not a huge one, but... noticeable.  Smoke plumed up in a mushroom shape and something small and yellow flew over our heads in a long arc, bouncing twice before it came to rest.  “Pikachu!”, a boy shouted from the source of the explosion.
A smoke stained red and white cap floated down from the sky, and disappeared with a wet clop.  I licked my lips as a dark haired boy in a blue jacket with short white sleeves came running up.
“Hey!”, he fumed at Ulti.  “Your Gengar just ate my hat!”.  Ulti didn't even have to look at me.
“What are you talking about, kid?  I don't even have a Gengar.  Look”.  His eyes followed Ulti's gesture to the table.  “Clefairy...”, said the 'fairy with a resigned tone.  Stupid 'fairy.
This is a story about :iconultimategalaxia: 's Pokemon OC FabledLord and his trainer, Ulti.  Since he didn't have a backstory, I decided to write an origin story, in the Pokemon's own words.

When writing FabledLord I had a definite vocal pattern in mind; Baby Herman from 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit'.  Here's a clip www.youtube.com/watch?v=lgCAIx…

Atomic Beautifly and Risen-lia were created from whole cloth (and a diseased mind :P) by me (and the evil experiments of Team Plasma).
Levy and Dana (pronounced Day-na) belong to me.
FabledLord and Ulti belong to :iconultimategalaxia:
Both trainers were modeled on the trainer characters from Pokemon Black and White.

Pokemon TCG, Pokemon the Video Game and the Pokemon Anime Series and characters thereof obviously do NOT belong to me.

Dana and Levy were an original idea that had been floating around in my head pretty much since I thought up the contest that :iconultimategalaxia: won with his FabledLord entry
Contest Entry - FabledLord by UltimateGalaxia

I had seen a lot of Pokemon OC's all of which seemed to simply be the artist putting themselves in the role of the trainer with nothing particularly different about them.  But obviously I'm not the only one that thinks that way.  So I decided to tie FabledLord and levy's origins together.

Dana and Levy might crop up again sometime, who knows.
Oh and in case you are wondering; Levy wasn't just a name I picked because it was phonetically close to Eevee, but because that's what she does; She extracts a levy (a tax if you like) on other pokemon's evolutions to power her own.  Sort of an evolution vampire.  Oh and sometimes her victims don't get better.

Wow, this is seriously amazing! :D I'm literally speechless right now! The idea, the composition, Gengar's speech habits... it's all perfect! (Especially the idea) I really liked how you incorporated Mega Evolutions and Team Plasma in the story. ;D The experimented pokemon looked awesome (at least, my mental image and your description of them made it seem that way..). The Gengar's reaction and attitude towards the Clefairy is spot on as well. And I really like your explanation for how he feels sharing a mind with another pokemon. :)

Just a couple of nitpicks: Trainer Ulti's actually modeled after the trainer character from Pokemon Black and White (that's the link I gave you), but then again, the male character from X and Y doesn't look that different..

Ulti started out with a Clefairy, not a Gengar. He also interacts with and is more familiar with the Clefairy side of FabledLord.

FabledLord has more control over the Gengar that he wouldn't let it take over him easily like in the beginning of your story, but I can see how it'd make more sense in this context (and make the story more appealing).

Finally, I would have liked to see Clefairy!FabledLord act a little more in this story and have him talk more, but I think it worked out better this way, in this context. Gengar!FabledLord makes for a more entertaining 'raqonteur'. ;) (I finally found out what that word means: storyteller)

Nitpicks aside, I really enjoyed this and am glad you did this for me. :) Glad I took a chance and entered your contest, haha.. well, thanks again! :thanks:
