I designed the OC Castle Challenge as something a little different for OC's to attempt.  So in order to drum up a little interest, I thought I'd put my own long suffering OC; Amber Hunt, through it.

The OC Adventure Challenge Meme: The CastleHere, instead of just talking about themselves, or playing dress-up, we're actually going to put your Original Character or Fan Character through a series of challenges.  We're going to see what, when it really gets down to it, your OC is really made of.
Ninja Warrior,  The Crystal Maze, The Krypton Factor, Fear Factor.  There are elements of all of these programs in this meme.  We're going to push their limits physically, mentally and emotionally.  So are they up for it?
This meme is open to both visual artists and writers.  You can draw a picture (or pictures) of your OC attempting each task, or you can write it as a story or a series of scenes or even a poem.  Or if you're really ambitious; all of the above
So without further ado, let's make a start;
The announcer (a generic chat-show host/presenter type) greets you and explains the rules.  Something or someone of great value to you has been taken and placed in the room at the top of the ta


Notes:
1)  Amber is specific to a medieval, dinosaur infested world.  This really doesn't fit her world, so she believes it is a dream.
Demesne is an old word meaning domain, or in Amber's case, the section of the city she lives in.

2)  She loves to show off her brains, but unfortunately in this instance, they can't actually help her.  She's not particularly athletic or agile.  Despite being fairly tall (5'10"), she fails this task.

3)  Amber can swim.  She manages to cross the moat.  However, she is cold blooded and the freezing water leaves her numb and unsteady for the next task.  Not to mention soaking wet.

4)  Still shaking from the cold, she attempts to walk across the tightrope.  She is never great at this in the first place, she falls in, failing the task.

5)  Not to put too fine a point on it, Amber is a genius.  She figures out the three layers of comlplex puzzle locks and opens the door before the announcer can even finish describing the challenge.

6)  As a kindred, half human and half lizardman; Amber is despised by both races.  Her human mother died giving birth to her and her human family pretty much disowned her.  No kith would ever admit fathering a half-blood.  Only her grandfather took her in and in his will forced her human 'father'  to raise her until adulthood or lose the family business.
Being kindred has caused her nothing but trouble and anguish, race hate, and it cost her her first love; Joseft in a real emtional train wreck that forced her to run away from home for over a decade.

The chance to be Human, to be accepted, is all Amber ever wanted.  She couldn't leave this room if she tried.   Amber fails this challenge. 

7)  Since recent events (the novel I really need to finish writing) Amber has come to fear losing her humanity.  Being trapped in the body of a monster (Kith/Lizardman) and remaining that way until the end of time.  Slowly going insane, remembering what it was to be human(ish) unable to ever die.
She can't face living that way, and can't muster the courage to cross this room.  She fails.

8)  Though targeted for race hatred, Amber doesn't actually have any specific enemies as such.  The closest she comes is Joseft; her first love.  When she revealled she was kindred, he panicked and ran off, telling everyone he met.  He betrayed her and told everyone her secret shame.  But she still sort of loves him.  She can't figure out if she'd rather kiss him or kill him, but she can't forgive him.

9)  After Joseft's betrayal, Amber developed a major issue with deceipt and disloyalty.  The idea of taking a bribe, even though she barely has enough to get by on, is an anathema to her.

10)  This was a hard one, actually.  Amber doesn't have many possessions... or friends.  At least until  later in the story when she starts to grow and reach out to people.  Kaley is a doll her grandfather gave to her as a child.  It got very worn by the lonely child, and it's arm was forever hanging off where she dragged it about by it.  Her grandfather even sewed a patch of scales on the leg under the dress to try to help Amber accept who and what she was.  It didn't really work.
Kaley was left behind when Amber ran away after Joseft betrayed her and told everyone her dirty little secret.
(Joseft found and keeps the doll to remind him of the mistakes he made in the past).
